A Case of Squamous Cell Carcinoma Showing Distant Metastasis

Abstract
A 81-year old female patient visited our department due to painful tumor mass on the scalp. At first, a coin sized verrucous lesion appeared on the vertex 4 years ago and rapidly expanded.
One month ago, her skin lesion was well defined, irregular border, 9 x 15, 5 x 6 cm sized mass, which had central ulceration with foul odor on the parietotemporal scalp and left periauricular area. Histopathologic finding revealed irregular nest of atypical squamous cells invading the dermis.
X-ray finding showed haziness on the superior mediastinum and erosion on the vertex of skull. 3 month after hospitalization, she died. due to metastasis probably.
